NEW FILTER MEDIA
OUR TECHNOLOGY
OCTOBER 2026 UPDATE
The results are in. O2 Armor filters are now made with new Technostat® T30-P electret filter media, and we sent that media to LMS Technologies, an independent filtration lab, for fractional efficiency testing. You can see the full results below or download the complete report.
O2 Armor was created to give you discreet nasal filtration you can wear comfortably all day. Each insert is a soft, flexible, latex-free body that holds a small pad of electret filter media. The media carries an electrostatic charge that attracts and holds airborne particles like dust, pollen and fine smoke as you breathe in through your nose.

FULL TEST RESULTS
LMS Technologies tested the filter media across particle sizes from 0.3 to 10 microns, at two airflow rates modeling nasal breathing during low to moderate activity and during higher activity. Filtration efficiency rises with particle size and is slightly lower when you're breathing harder.
| Particle size | Low to moderate activity | Higher activity |
|---|---|---|
| 0.3 – 0.4 microns | 66.0% | 54.5% |
| 1.0 – 1.3 microns | 89.4% | 82.9% |
| 1.6 – 2.2 microns | 94.4% | 90.4% |
| 2.2 – 3.0 microns | 96.5% | 93.8% |
| 4.0 – 5.5 microns | 99.2% | 97.3% |
| 7.0 – 10.0 microns | 99.8% | 99.3% |
Headline figures reflect the 2.2–3.0 and 7.0–10.0 micron ranges at the low to moderate activity airflow. Results are for the filter media.

WHAT O2 ARMOR FILTERS
Here are common particles you may run into on the job and at home, with their dry size and the approximate filtration efficiency of the media for each. In real air, most particles absorb moisture and grow 80% to 1000% larger, which makes them easier to capture.
| Particle | Dry size (microns) | Filtration efficiency |
|---|---|---|
| SHOP AND JOBSITE DUST | ||
| Sawdust | 30 – 600 | 100% |
| Grain dust | 5 – 1000 | 98 – 100% |
| Textile dust | 6 – 20 | 98 – 100% |
| Iron dust | 4 – 20 | 97 – 100% |
| Cement dust | 3 – 100 | 96 – 100% |
| Coal dust | 1 – 100 | 82 – 100% |
| Fiberglass insulation | 1 – 1000 | 82 – 100% |
| Fly ash | 1 – 1000 | 82 – 100% |
| Lead dust | 2 | 90% |
| Talcum dust | 0.5 – 50 | 63 – 100% |
| Paint pigments | 0.1 – 5 | Up to 97% |
| SMOKE AND COMBUSTION | ||
| Smoke from synthetic materials | 1 – 50 | 82 – 100% |
| Burning wood | 0.2 – 3 | Up to 96% |
| Combustion particles (vehicles, wood burning, industrial processes) | Up to 2.5 | Up to 93% |
| ALLERGENS | ||
| Pollen | 10 – 1000 | 99 – 100% |
| Mold spores | 10 – 30 | 99 – 100% |
| Dust mites | 100 – 300 | 100% |
| Pet dander | 1 – 9 | 80 – 99% |
Approximate efficiency for dry particles, estimated from the LMS Technologies test results. Many factors affect real-world efficiency, including breathing rate and the mix of particle sizes in the air.
WHY IT MATTERS
TRUSTED TECHNOLOGY
Fine particles in the air you breathe every day pose real health risks. The World Health Organization estimates that outdoor air pollution alone causes about 4.2 million premature deaths worldwide each year, and whether you're on a jobsite, in the shop or cooking at home, you're breathing in dust, smoke and other fine particles.
O2 Armor inserts are made from soft, medical-grade TPE that holds the Technostat® filter media in place inside each nostril, so the air you breathe through your nose passes through the filter. The media is designed to capture fine airborne particles in dust, smoke, pollen and other particle-heavy environments while still allowing comfortable nasal breathing.
O2 Armor Nose Filters are not intended to replace any personal full-face breathing filtration device required or specified for hazardous environmental conditions.
